A Little Knight Tennis By Knightie Katrinka Time: around late afternoon three hours after War: Knighties: Nick's six get a little Nick fix Knighties used with permission The loft was a different place since it had been invaded by the presence of Schanke. The man had taken over the best couch in the place, and had the local sports channel playing on the big screen. He seemed more bemused by the presence of the Knighties then anything. As long as they didn't interrupt his viewing, he didn't mind if they stayed. The Knighties on the other hand didn't know what to do. They were having a secret meeting in Nick's bedroom. "What are we going to do when he gets hungry?" Maria asked. "How long are we going to be able to con him into eating blood sausages?" " Tracey asked. "Until we can find out what ever happened to him?" Sandra raised an eyebrow. "Kat, can I ask you something?" Tracey asked. "Why on earth does the loft have a stock of blood sausages?" "When I ordered food on the Internet, I must have messed up. There's a new German-Canadian firm that's cheap, so I used them." The leader admitted. "Well, at least we found a use for them." "I'm still sleeping in the garage." Mindy said. "I think most of us are." Brooksie agreed. "What about the caddy?" Tracey pointed out. "We can't sleep on it." "We'll put it in the drive way." Katrinka suggested. "We need some anti-vampire things. Do you think Nick has any?" "I don't think he would keep any around!" Eowyn said. "You think we can work on it?" Sandra asked. "Maybe we should all make sure we arm ourselves with vampire protection. Crosses, holy water, garlic...?" "I'll get to it now!" Nancy said, leaving to go to her security station. "Okay, what are we going to do with Schanke?" Eowyn asked. "He's going to drive us nuts." "Be really, really nice to him." Katrinka decided. "I've always found that helps with unstable people." That brought a sigh from the other Knighties. One mumbled. "You should know." The Knightie leader decided to ignore the remark. "Okay, we need to decide what they heck is going on." "We haven't had any ion storms lately?" Maria asked. "Ion storms?" "Got that from Star Trek. Anytime anything happened like this, it was because of an ion storm." "Since we're not in space, I think we can rule that out." Eowyn said firmly. "The Master's up to something?" Marla asked. "Has anyone seen a blue box around?" "There's a no crossover rule! The Master, Daleks, Klingons or anything else like that has NOTHING to do with this!" The redhead tried very hard to control her temper. "What about the bad witch east?" "Ming the merciless?" "NO CROSSOVERS!" Eowyn bellowed. "I wonder if someone's trying to make Nick mortal, since he's leaped into two mortal bodies." Sandra mused. "Who would do something like that?" "We all know something's happened. We need to talk to Schanke about it." Katrinka decided. "We can't trust him." Sandra wisely pointed out. "It's not a matter of trust. It's a matter of finding out what the heck is going on!" "Well, I'm not going down there." Eowyn said firmly. "He hasn't had a blood sausage for a while." "I'll go." Katrinka sighed. "Anyone want to come with me." When no one else would, She grabbed the nearest Knightie. ***************** Katrinka half drug half-coaxed Maria down the steps from the bedroom to the living room. The Knighties found Nickbody watching Wimbledon. He was very loudly cheering on a tall Croat. He was also wearing a very loud Hawaiian shirt. It looked really strange on Nick's body. *Where did he get that shirt? * "Schanke, can we talk to you?" Katrinka finally asked. "Sure, sit down." Katrinka perched on the edge of the couch. Maria hung a good distance away. "We need to talk about what happened." "Well, they're in the fifth set, and my guy is doing wonderfully." Schanke tried to explain. Maria looked at the screen. "Why is Russell Crowe playing?" "That isn't Crowe." "I've seen Gladiator three times, and that's him!" She insisted. "The guy only looks like him." Katrinka hissed. "Is he from Australia?" "Yeah he is!" Schanke told her. "Then it's him!" Maria sat down in a chair. "The other guy's pretty hunky too." "I've put all my money on him. No one thinks he can win." "I don't know, Crowe's a pretty tough guy." "Schanke, we need to talk about you changing bodies." Katrinka tried to bring the conversion back to the matter at hand. "What about it?" "Did you change bodies before last night?" She asked. The Croat hit an ace. Schanke clapped his hands. "Yeah! That's it!" "Okay, who did you change with?" "That's it! Another ace!" Schanke almost shouted. "SCHANKE!" Katrinka bellowed. The man looked at her nonplussed. "Will you hush up? I'm watching TV!" "I give up!" Katrinka stomped off cursing in five different languages. Perhaps she could get someone else to talk to him. Katrinka@flash.net AIM KatrinkaKnighties Acting Leader of the Knighties
