Knightie, Knightie, Has Anyone Seen the Knightie? Time: soon after Bargins and Beatings By Katrinka of the Knighties. Knighties used by permission "This is not funny," Marla groaned, she sat down at a picnic table. "We have to keep looking." Tracey said. "I've looked for an hour, the other Knighties aren't here, and everywhere I turn, I see cousins!" "What's wrong with cousins?" "They keep lying! Sending us to the other end of the store, just to find Kat, and she's never there!" She took off one shoe, and rubbed her feet. "My feet hurt." "I'll buy you some aspirin! Now put your shoes on." "You're almost as perky as your namesake." "What namesake?" "Nick's partner, Tracy Vetter." "Oh please!" Tracey began to look around. "I'm not a thing like her!" Marla put her shoes back on. "It's too bad we can't play some pranks on those Nunkie's." "Knighties don't attack." Tracey smiled. "Beside, I think that the NA are honestly trying to help out-for once." "Okay, thirty more minutes," Marla sighed as she got to her feet. The two Knighties had only walked a few feet, when a large group of Knighties entered Wall-Mart. Eowyn rushed up to them. "Have you found her yet?" "No, and the Cousins aren't helping out one bit!" Marla frowned. "Of course there not, there's a war going on." Eowyn began to divide up the Knighties into pairs. Thankfully, she had Marla wait by the door, on the bench. *************************** Min and Gemsong walked through the toy section. They saw a group of Nunkies coming nearer; they grabbed a doll, and pretended to be fascinated by it. One Nunkie glared at them, and said something about "Knighties and dolls." Gemsong plastered on her best smile, and turned to them. "Have you seen Katrinka?" "Why do you want to know?" "We're looking for her." The Nunkie rolled her eyes. "Not you too!" "She's gone crazy!" The second Nunkie gasped. "She keeps calling herself Ms'Kaye and threatening to write us up!" "She's acting like an evil school teacher!" The first Nunkie said. "Where is she?" Min asked. "I don't know, and I don't care!" The woman said hotly. "Did you know she hit our leader with a glove?" "Why would she do a thing like that?" Min gasped. "She's challenged someone to a wrestling match!" "Wrestling," Gemsong repeated. "Tag team pro wrestling. She's volunteered Eowyn as her partner." The first Nunkie said. The Knighties exchanged looks. "Thanks. Don't worry, we'll take care of her." "Your whole faction's nuts!" The Nunkie said. "Tell me about it." Gemsong sighed. ************************** Eowyn and Maria went through the clothes racks. The Knightie leader made a point of looking underneath each rack she found. "Why are you looking at under the racks?" She asked. "When I was a kid, I always hid under the racks. I thought Katrinka might do that too." "If she's still in the shop. She might have left." "Last war, when she went nuts, she stayed put." "Are you sure she's sane enough to be in the Knighties?" Maria asked. "I heard one war, she dyed her hair blue, and slept with a wereVachon." "You can't hold that war against her, it was *very* strange." "But a wereVachon? I thought she was a Knightie!" "He gave her the whammy. It wasn't her fault!" Eowyn said, sticking up for her friend. Just then, Maria spotted Katrinka. She was walking down an isle, looking very dazed. She nudged Eowyn. Eowyn rushed up to her. "Ms'Kaye." "Who?" Katrinka asked confused. "You like to be called Ms'Kaye," "When I'm teaching. But you're my friend." She looked at her watch. "I've lost almost two hours." "What do you mean lost?" "I can't remember what happened." Eowyn looked at Maria. "Go get the other Knighties, tell them we've found Katrinka." "Why can't I remember?" Eowyn grabbed Katrinka by the shoulders, and stared into her eyes. "Oh god, you've been given the whammy again." "How can you tell?" "You always get that look in your eyes when it's happened." The leader said firmly. "Now, what vampire have you been around lately?" "The same one you have." "Can you remember if you were ever alone with Nick?" "NO, I can't." Gemsong and Tracey ran up to the Knighties. "Is she still around the bend?" "She has amnesia." Eowyn told them. "Sure she has." Tracey said coldly. "Did she tell you that she *hit* one of the Nunkies, and challenged them to a tag team wrestling match?" "Why would I do that? I hate wrestling." Katrinka said, even more confused. "It gets better," Gemsong added. "She told them that you would be her partner, Eowyn." The rest of the Knighties ran up to them, all of them asking questions. Most of them seemed very upset. Eowyn raised a hand. "Katrinka's a victim. Someone's given her the whammy." "Who?" Min demanded. "This isn't the place to discuss this." "But the wrestling match? We could try and talk the Nunkies into canceling it." Gemsong suggested. "No, we'll do it." Eowyn said firmly. "They'll kill us." "You mean I didn't tell you?" Eowyn said with a smile. "When I was in college I made extra money by semi-pro wrestling. They called me the Red Mauler!" Katrinka@flash.net NICK NEEDS YOU! Acting Leader of the Knighties
