Title: Knighties: Knight Dream Time: While Nick is making vacation arrangements during "A Long Day's Journey Into Knight Passages" Place: The Loft By: Eowyn "Hey Nick! Eowyn poked her head in from the hallway. "You wanted to see me." "Hi Eowyn. Yes, I did. Would you come in and sit down?" "What's on your mind?" She walked over to stand beside him. She shifted from the ball of one foot to the other. His formal tone and manner made her nervous. "Are you upset with me, Nick?" "No, I'm not upset with you but I do think you need a change." "What kind of change?" She ask warily. "I think you should change factions." "What?!!!! Nick, I DON'T want to change factions." "I think you belong with the Cousins." "But Nick, I love you. I helped torture LaCroix while he was in your body. I'm NOT a Cousin." "Nevertheless..." BANG, CLICK! Someone shut their suitcase hard and snapped the locks. Eowyn's head snapped up and looked around. She had been packing her suitcase and realized she had fallen asleep on her feet. She dashed around the Loft looking for Nick. Breathless from her frantic search, she threw open a door and found the busy vampire. "Tell me it isn't so!" Nick looked up when the distraught Knightie co-leader burst through the door. "Tell you what isn't so?" He inquired reasonably. "Tell me you don't want me to quit the Knighties and become a Cousin." "Where did you get an idea like that?" He got up and walked over to her, took her by the hand and sat her in a chair. Bending at the knees he looked into the face of one very angsting Knightie. "Breathe, Eowyn. Now, calm down. I don't want you to become a Cousin. What makes you think I would? You've been loyal to me in four Wars now and I trust you." "You really trust me, Nick?" The Knightie was beginning to think a little more clearly. "Yes, of course." "Oh. It must have been a dream then. But it was so real! I was afraid we were losing you, Nick." Tears formed in the Knightie's eyes when she thought of how close Nick had come to never being in his body again. "I think the War finally got to you." "That must be it. I've been so afraid we'd never get you back in your own body. When I finally had a chance to relax, my subconscious must've caught up with me. It was all just a terrible, horrible, no-good very bad dream." "Kinda like the War is sometimes?" "Yeah, like the War is sometimes." "Feeling better?" "Yeah, I am. Thanks Nick." "And Eowyn..." "Yes, Nick." "You are and ALWAYS will be one of my Knighties. I won't have it any other way." He wrapped his arms around her in an affectionate hug and pulled her up toward him. He bent his head and kissed her on the lips. Eowyn's knightmare faded to nothing as those lips told her she would be his forever. Eowyn eowyn3@juno.com
