IMPORTANT! CURE FOR SWITCHES INFORMATION by Sandra Gray Place: The loft Time: Tuesday, July 17, 2001, later afternoon Not long after "Out of Character Ideas" Everyone used with permission As Eowyn watched, Sandra put the finishing touches on her message. She saved it to the out box and, leaving Eowyn on guard, went off to find Katrinka. The fatigued Knightie leader rubbed her eyes and followed Sandra to the computer. Sandra brought up the message and showed it to her. She read it silently. "So can I send it?" Sandra asked. Katrinka saw that the message was addressed to all the faction leaders and was signed, "Katrinka, Knightie Leader". "Good fanfic?" "Yeah. We don't know when or if we'll find M. Sue Scientist." Katrinka sighed. She wanted her Nick back. If they couldn't find the bad fanfic author responsible for this mess... "Maybe it'll work," she said. "Go ahead and send it." Sandra hit the send button and the following message sped its way to the faction leaders: ----------------------------------------------------------------- To: Faction Leaders From: Katrinka Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2001 15:54:11 -0500 Subject: IMPORTANT! CURE FOR SWITCHES INFORMATION Faction Leaders: The Knighties have discovered what we believe is the reason for the personality switches being experienced by various persons. Our theory is that the problem has been caused by bad fan fiction in which various fictional characters corresponding to actual persons have been written out of character. This has caused, we believe, the actual persons to get "out of character." Further, we believe the cure for these personality switches also exists in good fan fiction. Please have the persons you follow read good fanfic about the body they inhabit. For example, if Nick's personality inhabits Vachon's body, have him read good Vachon fanfic. By good fanfic, we mean fanfic in which the personality's character is portrayed in an accurate light-- IOW, fanfic "in character." Please accept this cure information in the helpful and friendly spirit in which it is given. We want our Nick back just as much as you want your leaders back. Katrinka Knightie Leader ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Well, the message is on its way," said Sandra. "I hope the idea works." "If it doesn't, we can always say, 'All players and characters BACK in your own bodies,'" said Eowyn with a smile. Sandra smiled and offered her own lighthearted contribution. "Or we could just click our heels together three times and say, 'I wish the characters were all back in their own bodies.'" Katrinka smiled at both of them. "What's funny?" asked Nickbody. The three women jumped. "Why do you do that?" asked Katrinka. Nickbody smiled. "Because I can." "Well, I'm sure you heard us," said Sandra. She walked over to the window and purposely opened the blinds. The sky was smothered in clouds, not even a hint of sunshine visible. Thunder rumbled in the distance. *What an odd color the sky is,* she thought. Then she decided to go get some whammy protection. --Sandra Gray, forever Knightie --sandragray@rica.net
