Clothes Call by Sandra Gray Place: The loft Time: Friday, July 6, 2001 concurrent with and after the NP post, Prepare to Part-ay! Katrinka used with permission Katrinka hung up the phone. Sandra, who had been nearby, said incredulously, "The NatPack are taking Nick to the Raven party?" "Yep. They just want something from Nick's wardrobe for Nickbody to wear," said Katrinka. Sandra looked around, seeing that Nick in Nat's body was not within earshot. Then she asked in a low tone, "You're not going to let Nat--er, Nick--go to the party too?" She jerked her head in the direction of Nick in Nat. "Just call her Natbody," said Katrinka. "But yeah, sure, why not? Most of us are going and can watch out for her." Sandra just stared at Katrinka, wondering if her leader had lost her good sense. Sandra wasn't going to the party; she'd decided to stay at the loft in case of trouble. "I hope that's not a mistake," she said. "Sandra, don't worry," said Katrinka gaily. She walked off to the kitchen. Sandra sighed, wishing she could follow that suggestion. ...sometime later.... The door buzzed. Sandra walked over to the monitor and flicked it on to see two women standing there. One carried a dress bag and the other clutched a package in her hands. "Yes?" she asked. "Hi. We're with the NatPack. We're here to pick up Nick's outfit." Katrinka walked over. "We've got it ready for you. Come on up." She buzzed the door open. Then she walked over to the couch to pick up the outfit the Knighties--after much deliberation-- had selected from Nick's closet for the party. The NatPackers stepped out of the elevator. "Hi. Where's Natbody?" asked one of them as they both looked around. "Here, let me take those," said Sandra, relieving them of their burdens. "She's upstairs getting ready for the party," said Katrinka. She held out Nick's outfit. "Here you go." "Thanks." "No problem. See you all at the party later." "Later." The NatPackers left. Katrinka looked at her watch. "I gotta get ready!" she said. --Sandra Gray, forever Knightie --sandragray@rica.net
