Schanke sat down in the Deli, surrounded by the Fods.


"Alright, Nick, where's Schanke?" Kathy asked.

Schanke thought it best to come clean. The others
were just able to restrain Kathy from reaching the
meat cleaver when she discovered the mess in the
kitchen. "Schanke and I have switched bodies.
Schanke's getting some much needed sleep at my loft,
and I decided to go and enjoy the sunshine!"

"And the clothes?" Senara was now awake, and
caffeinated.

Nick-in-Schanke smiled. "Schank elected to sleep in
my silk pjs, and he liked them so much I thought I
would get them as a present to him. Also as an
apology the Knighties take a little while to get used
to."

The FoDs returned the smile. Nick was watching out
for his partner, as always. "What about the other
clothes?" Cindy wanted all the information.

"I thought it was time to retire some of the shirts.
Besides, there's no way that Myra's not going to enjoy
seeing her Don all dressed up now and again."
Nick-in-Schanke grinned. His partner's taste in
shirts was occasionally questionable.

"Alright. Now that we know who you are, how do we
switch you back?" Spifff wanted to find the solution,
and soon.

Nick-in-Schanke couldn't answer that. He didn't know.
His offer of help in cleaning/reorganizing the
kitchen was firmly denied. He couldn't blame them.
It was probably better to sit out of the war and read
the fascinating book "Green Eggs and Ham." Cindy had
recommended it as a good read.
