FoD: Are we sure this is a good idea? 3/3 author: Cindy Brewer time: July 16th place: the Moose Lodge and the FoD Mansion The FoD's finally left the Moose Lodge around ten. Cindy and Senara took the Cruiser (tm) while the others split up into two cabs. They agreed to regroup at the Deli at five thirty. "So where to?"Senara asked as she slid behind the wheel of the Cruiser (tm). Cindy took out a road map of Toronto. "Let's find a paper supply store to get something to print the invitations out on." "Okay."Senara replied as she pulled the Cruiser (tm) out into traffic. "Are we going to stop and talk to Myra?" Cindy sighed and glanced at the side mirror where the moose lodge was rapidly disappearing from view. "I guess we have to tell her what's going on. Since it won't be her husband she's spending her anniversary with." Senara nodded. "She's been around these Wars enough. Hopefully it won't startle her too much." ******* Spifff unlocked the door to the Deli and Leah put the closed sign on the door after they stepped inside. Spifff walked around the counter and stepped into the kitchen looking at it in dismay. In their rush to get to the UF party last night they hadn't exactly done a through cleaning job. Dishes were stacked in the sink, pots were still on the stove. With a sigh Spifff turned to Leah who had taken a seat at the counter. "Let me get this mess cleaned up then we can start working on the menu." "Okay."Leah replied with a nod as she reached for a pad of paper and a pen. "I'll sketch out some ideas." ********* Kathy and Ron got out of the cab at the mansion in Rosedale and Ron turned around to pay the driver. Kathy looked at the large mansion as Ron took the cleaning supplies out of the backseat. "We've definitely got our work cut out for us."Kathy muttered as they walked up the sidewalk. Kathy unlocked the front door and was immediately rewarded with a strong musty odor. "Great."she said with a wrinkled nose. "Let's make the windows our first priority and get some fresh air into this place." Ron nodded as they stepped into the foyer. ********* After the print shop Cindy and Senara stopped at an internet cafe so they could print off the invitations. "These look great."Cindy commented as she plucked the first copy from the printer. "You did a great job with the design." "Thanks."Senara replied. "That computer program had a lot of good graphics." They sat down at a nearby table as they waited for the printer to finish. "How about we drop these off at the various faction HQ's and then grab some lunch before heading over to the Mansion to see if Kathy needs help?"Cindy suggested as she glanced at her watch nearly eleven. "Sounds good." Ten minutes later Cindy paid the cafe for the printer use and they piled into the Cruiser (tm) to deliver the invitations. Cindy just hoped it wasn't too short of notice for people to come. War time schedules could be hell. ****** Five thirty rolled around and Cindy and Senara stepped through the door of the Deli only to be nearly overwhelmed by wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. The rest of the FoD's were already there camped out at various tables. "Spifff!"Cindy called as she stepped up to the counter. "Everything smells fantastic!" Spifff emerged from the kitchen chef hat slightly crooked on her head, flour and chocolate smudges on her apron. "Thanks."Spifff replied with a weary smile as she leaned against the counter. "There are some deserts that need to sit over night but pretty much everything's ready." "Great."Cindy acknowledged as she sat down. "Great job. You too Leah." Leah nodded and smiled from her seat by the window. "Thanks but Spifff did all the hard work." Spifff shook her head. "But you pulled some fantastic recipes from the cookbooks." Cindy turned to Kathy and Ron. "Kathy, Ron the Mansion looks wonderful. The decorations are perfect." Kathy smiled. "The Mansion wasn't as bad as I originally thought when I stepped in there. Once we got the floors and windows cleaned it was a snap." Cindy turned back to Spifff. "Spifff, finish up what you have in there. Leave the cleanup till tomorrow. I'm taking you guys out to dinner to celebrate pulling this party together so fast." end
