"Yes, yes, I understand. I'll research things from here and see what turns
up." Brenda logged into the receipts image file and pulled up the items in
question. Not only did the signature *not* match the cardholder's name, but
the only way a table for two could have reached that figure would be if
they were buying several rounds for a full house. Curious, she pulled up
the itemized tabs. It looked like these guests had ordered the entire pub
and cantina menus! This was very odd, indeed. Putting two and two together,
she opened her Outhouse Contacts file and dialed CERK.

"CERK all day and night. Home of the Nightcrawler and the HOouuuunnndds of
Hell. This is Jess, your Cousinly receptionist speaking. How may I help you?"

"Jess, this is Brenda Bell over at the Fiendish Glow. I need to verify a
pair of charges on Lacroix's VISA card."

"What sort of charges?"

"I have two receipts for this past Saturday, about an hour apart, each for
several hundred dollars Canadian -- totals which are odd enough in
themselves. More to the point, the receipts were not signed by Lacroix. The
signature looks like a "Cousin Shelley... something-or-other" -- the last
name is illegible. My bookkeeper tagged the receipts as suspicious. Did
Lacroix authorize these charges, or should be reporting a stolen card?"
