Time: Late Thursday afternoon, just after "This is the End, My Friends" All participants used with permission (thanks, Tser, Tok, and Les of the UF :) ) ************* Deborah took a deep breath as the taxi pulled up in front of the Hive. Hopefully someone would still be here...and there wouldn't be any more skunks. She'd had all she could take of *that* particular species for one war. That also was another reason she'd preferred to come alone. Cousin Tser was just too attached to the smelly things and she wasn't too sure about the ex receptionist in the cell--who'd gotten loose once already, if she remembered right--she'd had a vague impression of Tser leading a tied-up Jess past her while she'd been crying over the one jewelled peach she'd managed to find in a craft shop on one of the more obscure side streets (The shop owner had said it was his last one--there had been a peculiar run on jewelled peaches lately, he didn't know why. Deborah had a pretty good idea, but hadn't felt like explaining such abstruse matters to the uninitiated.) She pushed those thoughts from her mind...the loss of the Shrine, before she'd even had a chance to see it, was just too painful. Right now she had to take care of business here. She took a deep breath and knocked on the UF's door... "Hi. I hope you don't mind my coming by." Deborah said when the door opened. "I'm Deborah--with the Cousins?" Les nodded. "Yes I know. I wanted to thank you again that mural is just wonderful!" he smiled broadly. "What brings you here?" "Well, if it's not too much trouble--since I can't be running up here every week," she blushed, realizing as soon as the words were out of her mouth how inane that sounded, "I'd, uh, like to take a picture of it. It'll probably be the next war before I get to Toronto again, and who knows when that'll be?" She reached into her purse and took out her Kodak FunSaver 35 (she'd been in such a hurry to get to Toronto she'd forgotten her regular camera. And these instant ones were so much cheaper to buy in bulk.) "Sure," Les said. "Come on in--" and he let Deborah into the building. They didn't have far to go, as the mural was on the left hand side, opposite the bar, and in fact could be seen from the front entryway. It took a few minutes for Deborah to get the distance worked out so as to get the entire mural into one shot. And then just to be sure of the lighting and that all possible angles were covered...well, let's just say it was a good thing she had a duffel bag stuffed with disposable cameras. By the time she was finished, assuming all these pictures came out, there'd be enough for a small photo album. Some of the copies she'd give to the other Cousins--and anyone else who wanted one. The rest...well, one could never have enough mementos. Speaking of which she'd better move on if she wanted to get her other business taken care of before she caught the plane back to Ft Lauderdale. After thanking Les (and promising to send him a copy of the pictures) she left the UF Hive, pausing to survey her handiwork one last time before closing the door behind her. ****end******
