Sunshine, on my Shoulders, Makes me Angry (01/01) Time: Around noon on Friday, 7/6/01 Place: CERK By Cousins Maria and Talon Summary: Cousins are surprised to hear "sunny" music broadcast by CERK. Living forever may be the best revenge, but we only have two weeks here... ************************************************* Cousin Talon climbed wearily up the dungeon steps of his home underneath CERK. Noon was simply too early to wake up, but he couldn't sleep another minute. It was usually quiet - but without his fellow GSS in full attendance - it was downright eerie. So when the strains of "Sunshine on my Shoulders" could be heard from a distant hallway speaker Talon knew something was wrong. "Sunshine, on my shoulders, makes me happy . . . " Talon grimaced and increased his pace. "...sunshine almost always makes me smile..." Talon started to sprint. ************************************************** When he reached the broadcast booth, he was not surprised to see it empty. Uncle was simply not feeling Himself recently. At least that was how Talon preferred to think about it. Everywhere he looked, Talon saw CD's loaded and queued - CD's rife with happy, sunny, downright perky music. This was the source of wrongness within CERK - well, one of them. Talon let the last offending song play out while he immediately scanned the library for some Nine Inch Nails, perhaps some Godsmack, Rob Zombie, Korn or even some Depeche Mode. The mood was too sunny and called for some seriously grim music. "How?" "Who?" Talon's calls alerted Cousin Maria. She seemed a bit perplexed as to why Talon should be broadcasting "Sunshine on my Shoulders" as well as why he should be talking to himself. A hasty explanation later found Maria and Talon heading to the security room. Gracefully lowering themselves into smooth black leather upholstery, they began scanning the screens. Each with a remote; Maria took the screen marked "Booth" while Talon gazed at the screen marked "Entrance". It was Maria, who, seconds later, stood straight up. "Look!", she gasped. There, entering the broadcast booth (in fast rewind) was Javier Vachon. "Just what is he up to?", asked Talon. "It seems we know what he was up to. Now when did this happen?", responded Maria. Talon checked the timestamp. "Oh no . . . this sunny music has been going on since this morning!", whispered Talon. ****************************************************************** "Well, Talon, your questions have been answered. Now one more: what are we to do about this?" asked Maria. Talon grinned smugly. "I have an idea", he leered. "As do I", replied Maria. [Continued in, Revenge is a Dish Best Served with Feta Cheese]
