Title: Sneezes for LaCroix (1/1) Authors: Cousin Shelley and Arletta Asbury Faction: Cousins Date: July 19th, 2001 Time: Morning The day after "What Cousins Do Best (3/3)" Disclaimers: All participants used with permission. Arletta looked on in shock as she watched Shelley alternately dust and sneeze her way across the lobby of CERK. "Shelley, what are you doing?" she inquired. "Dusting. I *hate* dusting . I'm allergic to dust." Shelley mumbled, and kept on with her new duties. "So then *why* are you doing it?" Just then, a crumpled up piece of paper went hurling through the room and landed at the far wall. Sighing deeply, Shelley walked slowly over and picked it up. As she did, another one flew to the opposite wall. She went to get that one as well, glaring at the Cousinly Receptionist-in-training as she went. Bonnie just snickered. "She was *born* to be a Cousin, that one," Shelley said to Arletta as they passed. "Loves tormenting me." Arletta scratched her head and tried to figure out what was going on. As she did, another ball of paper sailed over her head and she heard snickers coming from the receptionist. Then she heard a low groan coming from Shelley. "What happened? What's going on?? Why is she throwing those papers??? And *why* are you picking them up????" Arletta burst out finally. "Because it's my new *job*," groaned Shelley loudly. "I HATE cleaning. I hate dusting , I hate messes. I really, really hate balled up paper all over the place too," she wailed. Bonnie smiled and tried to look innocent. Maybe this job wouldn't be so bad after all. "So many kitchens ... and *bathrooms*! Do you KNOW how many bathrooms CERK has??" Shelley continued to whine. "Your new *job*?" Arletta interrupted, eyes widening. "Yes, for the ... the ... credit card stuff," Shelley whimpered. "*He* found out, *he* wants the money back." Arletta groaned. "I *told* you it was a bad idea!" she told her friend. Shelley just whimpered some more. "What will you do?" "Work it off, I suppose. I mean, I *did* spend the money, so it's only right I should do this ... this ... awful cleaning job." "Well, it's not so bad ... a little dusting, a little vacuuming." "But, I'm UNDER the Cousinly Receptionist-in-training," Shelley whispered. Bonnie whistled and threw another ball of paper. "Oooops! Missed again!" she called out with glee. "Well, ummmm, I'll see you later on then, Shelley. I think I need to go arrange a flight home," Arletta said, backing slowly away and hoping no one decided SHE had a debt to pay off as well.
